During this scare time in our life, staying home and social distancing ourselves from family and friends can be really hard and depressing, especially if some of us have to stay home jobless during this pandemic. Before COVID-19 happened I would only on my technology when I have to do homework or pay my bills, but every since this pandemic got more serious I’ve been stuck at home doing the same things everyday like, cleaning my house, doing laundry, etc. But not only do I do those chores I also go on my phone a lot now, and be on my phone for 1-2 hrs a day.
My personal internet activities would usually be Instagram, Netflix, YouTube, and online shopping websites like fashion nova, target, and Walmart. But since I’ve been constantly home everyday since COVID-19 has started I have been more on Netflix, and YouTube. I have been lessening the websites I’ve been going to because I don’t want to think about the COVID-19.
When the COVID-19 got more serious and numbers of people affected where rising up, the way I communicate with other people are different. I would only talk to the phone in my house hold and would communicate with others through phone, face-time or zoom.
For me, learning in traditional classrooms is much more easier then learning online. In traditional classroom, I can ask my professor questions in person and he/she can help and show me what I have to do for the assignment/project. In online classes, I would have to email my professor and wait for them to message me back, for me, I don’t like online class because some classes professors would give videos that we can’t really understand them.
Artificial Intelligence over the past 70 years has evolved starting from the United States Department of Defense. This all started in the 1960s when they would train computers to copy human on how they work and take part in actions. Today, Artificial intelligence has became more develop. For example, Alexa, which is a digital assistant that response to human voices that returns music, reading text message, sending text message, emails, turning off and on the lights, news, sports, and so much more.
Artificial Intelligence has changed the industry today by having large businesses, such as hotels/capsules have humanoid robots operating in the service and entertainment industries. AI also has made things simpler for people to check in and out of the hotel and have controlled wagons take the guest suit cases to their rooms without having a bell boy do that for them.
One of the few issues that Artificial Intelligence create for workers are lack of employment. If the industry seeks more into humanoid robots to serve their industry, humans wont have any available job opportunities or will be unemployed. For example, trucking is one of the largest industries in the United States, every item each America brought, is delivered by truck. Some trucking companies are trying the come with a solution to have trucks drive on it own with out a human truck driver, drive the truck. With this problem, there will be a major shortage of truck drivers then there already is.
With Artificial Intelligence taking over, our society in 2030 there will have a huge amount of people who are unemployed. A lot of people won’t have the opportunity to get a job, and get money to pay their bills. Not only that, but people will get comfortable staying home and get lazy to work if our society leans more into Artificial Intelligence.
Interactions are important in our daily lives, without us communicating with one another, it can becomes unhealthy for our health. If our society has more Artificial Intelligence, we would have a lot of miscommunications with information that’s been provided, and makes everyone in the world less human. For example, if schools were to lean more on Artificial Intelligence, learning, speech, learning translation will be different compare with AI then communicating in person.
For my professional Career I want to become a flight attendant. In most airports there are technologies that makes passengers get their boarding pass faster and easier, rather then waiting in a long line. If airports lean more on Humanoid fight attendants and have planes fly on their own with out human pilots, I feel that the economy will go down, because people wouldn’t want to fly a plane because the Artificial Intelligence.
Some technologies/services I see today are parking garages have machines on each levels for everyone to pay their parking tickets, these machines are suppose to help people pay their parking ticket faster rather then paying it before their coming out of the parking garages, but the cons about this situation is that people who works for this type of position are going to lose their jobs.
Digital footprint are information about ourselves that we leave behind on the internet. For example, When we go on the internet, our computer knows what types of videos, items or what website we visit multiple times. Digital footprint is can be benefit you, for example, I am a student at the Leeward Community College and I always visit this site called “Laulima” and everytime I go back on this site it has my username and password ready for me, making it easier/faster for me to log back in when I need to. But Digital footprint can also affect your reputation, when posting on social media, from pictures to videos or status updates, these can all be used against you even if your profile page is private.
Digital footprint are created by information about a user. When a user visits a website that ask for their personal information, that information is collected creating a digital footprint. For example, when applying for a job, you share all your personal information about yourself, and you explain to them why you’re applying for the job, and the position you’re applying for, which makes your create a digital footprint. Even when you post a picture on social media, create a statue on Facebook you’re creating a digital footprint. For example, when you’re on the app “Pinterest” you’re creating a digital footprint of yourself, the app knows what types of quote you’re looking for or the types of pictures you’re constantly looking for.
Our digital footprint can affect us in so many ways. From pictures/videos you upload, to the things you research online, it can harm individuals emotionally. When we buy something online, and that specific website that we visit starts to create ads of related things they think we might be interested in buying. In the article Second self,Andrew states, “Beyond potentially losing out on benefits, people can be emotionally harmed by the way behavioral advertising plays to their worst fears or facilitates self destructive behavior.” Ads can inadvertently cause people to harm themselves with some inappropriate ads, that offends them. In some cases, some users ended up committing suicide after feeling depressed from seeing ads contantly reminding them about weight loss.
Things that most individuals do to create a negative digital footprints are posting videos or pictures that’s embarrassing about a person without their consent on social media, people harassing, cyberbullying, creating a crime or talking inappropriately to others on a post can be used against them, even if they assume that their accounts are private. These type of negative digital footprints can hinder some individuals from having future job opportunities, or harm them financially, and socially because if the video/ picture goes viral, people wouldn’t want to hire that individual.
5) Strategies for creating positive digital footprints. Find a video (on YouTube) or a webpage (on Google). (Remember to cite what you found in APA format).

This is the first post on my new blog. I’m just getting this new blog going, so stay tuned for more. Subscribe below to get notified when I post new updates.
This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.
You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.
Why do this?
Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.
The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.
To help you get started, here are a few questions:
Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
What topics do you think you’ll write about?
Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?
You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.
Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.
When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
